The University of Missouri has allowed me to get my feet wet in plenty of aspects of the strategic communication, Journalism, and business world.
Event Planning
In this journalism specialty class, I had the chance to take on planning the 9th annual Missourian Progress awards as a part of the logistics team.
As a part of the logistics team I:
Developed a theme and won the pitch against other teams
created and managed our budget plan
Developed the day-of event schedule
Divided responsibilities and managed/created a task list
Managed communication between teams & our client
Developed a contingency plan
Managed any day-of mishaps and delegated roles when necessary
Assisted in set-up, attendee services, and take-down
The event was a success with their greatest turnout yet, and overwhelming positive feedback!
I also co-led planning & promoting a 10 year anniversary event for a local vintage shop
Product Line & Campaign Pitch
Creating and pitching campaigns is frequent in Journalism school, but I had the most fun with it in my consumer behavior marketing class.
I had the chance to come up with a new product line along with 3 peers for Jolly Rancher, create a campaign for it, and Present our pitch to a representative from Hershey!
The rise in popularity of Swedish candy in the U.S. inspired our line extension.
Imports of non-chocolate candy to the U.S. have drastically risen over 300% in 2025, due to the poularity of Swedish style candy, (Statista, 2025).
Additional Projects
In Sports Production, I furthered my video editing skills on Adobe Premiere Pro. Being given over 3 hours of gymnastics meet footage, I was tasked to create a 'hype edit' to my choice of royalty-free music, while employing speed ramps, color correction, light leaks, and more.
In Public Relations, I was tasked with completing a full situation analysis for Alo Yoga, along with a new product line promotion, media outlet pitches, a press release, and social media posts. Click the image to the left to read.
In Advertising Research & Applications, my team and I were tasked with creating an experiment to test an aspect of advertising. We then analyzed the results and provided insights.Click the image to the left to see.
