A new restaurant popped up in my hometown a couple years ago. After tasting the cuisine and hearing the story, I was hooked.
Owner & operator, Bryan Slayton was in prison for 30 years on drug charges before his 2021 release. His love for cooking started while he was incarcerated. Navigating life after release comes with so many obstacles, which he educated me about.
After talking to the owner and operator of Bad Wraps Inc., I knew I wanted to be a part of his journey.
Along with a few students at Mizzou, We created a website for the restaurant.
Here, creativity meets opportunity.
Next, I found myself interviewing his Parole officer and creating A radio-style Audio Profile on Bryan.
